How to fall in Love with Jesus
Cassie Dulin: ATI- How to Put Everything Under God’s Control
God and family first. Matthew 5:1 “And seeing the multitudes, he went up into a mountain: and when he was set, his disciples came unto him”. Theme- “On to Victory with kingdom wealth.” Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Do you ask the question “why?” It’s not always out of rebellion but just seeking the truth. Sometimes we ask ourselves why? Why do we have high standards? Why do we study the Word of God? We do it to honor God and do it because we love Him. 1 Timothy 1:5 “But the goal of our instruction is love from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.” Love? What does love have to do with standards? Mark 12:30-31, “AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’ The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” The purpose of the commands was love from a pure heart. Love God and others. Give everything to him so he will control it. Give Him everything. Love is a decision. Love the Lord your God with all your heart soul mind and strength.
7 ways to fall in love with Jesus:
1. Prioritize Him.
a. God first, than family, then all else
2. Dedicate single years to Him
a. If I’m going to give everything to God I have to trust Him with my future. Serve Him and so he becomes my greatest love
3. Memorize the Word of God
a. Learn to love the Word of God through meditation, and studying. The word of God provides richness and truth
4. Spend time with him
a. Worship, journal, pray. Develop relationship with Him through time spent with Him.
5. Journal
a. Turn to God first and learn to trust Him in all situations.
6. Study Heroes of the faith
a. They inspire us. Completely sold out to the Lord. It helps us build faith and love for him.
7. Serve Him
a. I will go anywhere, do anything, and serve anyone. It starts with serving at Home with your family in ways that won’t always be noticed. Serve in the little ways.
The purpose of the commands is to love out of a pure heart. I have high standards because I love Him. I need to value what He values and love what he loves. 1 Peter 5:6, “Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:” Working to build character, being faithful in little results in being faithful in a lot. When we give God everything he NEVER fails us. Ephesians 6:1-3, “Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; which is the first commandment with promise; That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth.” Proverbs 10:22, “The blessing of the LORD makes one rich,
And He adds no sorrow with it.” God’s ways work. The only reason I am special is because I belong to the Lord. Our greatest calling is to serve the Lord. God loves me; His greatest desire is to have a personal relationship with me. 2 Chronicles 16:9, “For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His.” I need to surrender everything to Christ. Love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind, and strength. I need to love God, love myself, and love others.
